Trunk won't stay open
WebDec 17, 2012 · The bottom line is that the trunk won't remain open once it IS opened. As I see it, one of two things may be causing this: • There's a small metal arm on either side of the opening assembly that arches downward and sort of hooks under the metal rod right by it. I swapped my grimy old trunk lid for a better looking one with the 3rd brake light on it, but it won't stay open. used to great on a stock no-wing lid. but this one also has sound deadener. I'm definitely going to go gas shocks on the trunk and hood. Top.
